JOHOR BARU: The Sultan of Johor says the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) must be given every assistance in its investigation of corruption cases in the state.

Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar (pic) said no one was above the law and there should be no exceptions for anyone.

“Let the MACC carry out its investigations and allow the law to take its course,” he told The Star on Friday.

His Royal Highness said the MACC must be left to do its job.

Sultan Ibrahim said besides the police, the MACC met him regularly to provide updates.

“I encourage these agencies to carry out their work without fear or favour,” he said.

Sultan Ibrahim said there should not be unnecessary speculations to any investigations.

He said the palace would not interfere in any investigations by the authorities.

“The palace does not interfere nor does it protect anyone,” he added.
